My Tennis Coaching and the BTCA Announce Strategic Partnership

I’m pleased to share some important news.

My Tennis Coaching has today announced a new strategic partnership with the British Tennis Coaches Association (BTCA).

This collaboration is focused on strengthening coach education, increasing access to high-quality professional development, and supporting the long-term growth of the UK coaching community.

The partnership brings together:

  • The BTCA’s long-standing role as a national coaches’ association, and
  • My Tennis Coaching’s evidence-informed approach to practice design, coach development, and applied learning.

What this partnership means

As part of the collaboration:

  • BTCA members will receive exclusive discounts on My Tennis Coaching workshops, courses, and events
  • BTCA membership and conference opportunities will be promoted through My Tennis Coaching’s UK-based workshops, platforms, and communications
  • Both organisations will collaborate on events, learning initiatives, and conference support
  • The partnership will remain non-exclusive, flexible, and coach-focused

At its core, this agreement reflects a shared commitment to moving beyond one-off CPD experiences and towards learning formats that support real change in coaching practice.

A shared philosophy

“This partnership is about doing coach education properly. We know from both research and experience that meaningful change doesn’t come from ticking CPD boxes — it comes from supported learning, reflection, and collaboration. Working alongside the BTCA allows us to reach more coaches while staying honest about what actually improves practice.”
Steve Whelan, Founder, My Tennis Coaching
“The BTCA is committed to providing real value for our members, and this partnership aligns strongly with that aim. My Tennis Coaching brings a modern, evidence-informed perspective that complements our work, and we’re excited to collaborate on initiatives that support coaches at every stage of their development.”
Paul Braithwaite, Chairman, British Tennis Coaches Association

Looking ahead

Initially, the partnership will focus on:

  • Workshop delivery
  • Membership promotion
  • Conference collaboration

There is also clear scope for future joint work, including coach education pathways and junior coach development.

Both organisations see this as a long-term opportunity to strengthen the coaching landscape through cooperation, not competition.

More details will follow soon.
