Changing the drill does not always change the learning
Once a coach recognises that a practice is too predictable, the natural response is to make it busier. Add targets. Move the cones. Create a rotation. Introduce a scoring system. Tell the player to recover after every shot. The activity now looks more dynamic, but the player may still know exactly what is coming and exactly which action to perform.
